Q: What is the best way to get over someone you really loved?
A: It is such a great question and one that most of us ponder at some point in our lives. When a loving relationship ends the road to healing can be made longer when we don’t allow ourselves the time to process it all and really feel the feelings. It can be scary to feel all of it, and it feels like it will never end. But it does — in time, if you allow yourself to feel it.
I wish I could offer you the shortcut to it all, but the shortcuts we all look for only keep the pain buried for so long. So, feel all that you feel, find some things that you enjoy to do, and immerse yourself in you.
I remember a while back I saw a quote and it said something like this: “I am so alone and free to do whatever I want, and so I will.” So go do what you want, when you want, and how you want.
Love yourself, feel the feelings, and in time they will hurt less.
