Bosch washing machine repair: A global crisis?

By Mary Van Doren on April 11, 2018

It may be rare, but the need for a Bosch washing machine repair is universal

Around the world, millions of households rely on Bosch, one of the most reliable appliance companies ever, to refrigerate and cook their food, wash their clothes, and help them complete their DIY jobs.

Bosch appliances are considered to be among the most reliable in the entire world. Bosch washing machines cost a bit more than others, but less than truly up-market makers such as Miele, while still boasting the fine engineering and reliability that those pricey brands are known for. Bosch washing machine repair should be the least of the world’s worries.

Yet hidden beneath this rosy success story lies a little secret that, until now, has been hidden by the German mega-corporation. Now, upon careful examination of JustAnswer data, it can be revealed that one of the biggest concerns in March, around the globe, points to a shocking failure in Bosch technology!

This critical issue, whose importance quite literally drew in readers from around the entire world, is:

My Bosch front-load washing machine is stuck in lock mode. I can't get my wet laundry out. HELP!

Bosch washing machine repair: An equal opportunity situation

It may be of great import to thousands of people, but the solution to this problem turns out to be quite simple. According to Expert Tyler Z, the key is to drain the washer so the automatic lock will release the door on this Bosch front load washer.

If that doesn’t work, the Expert says, start and cancel a cycle, then wait for a few seconds. If the door still doesn’t open, the door lock has failed and will have to be forced open and then replaced.

Presumably Bosch would be shocked to learn not only that one of its washers had failed, but that in March, this problem would lead all at appliance questions in visits – by almost 1.5 times – from consumers of many nationalities.

Which nationalities? Residents from all of these cities, listed in order of most visits, popped in during March to read this question and its answer:

Bosch repairs: Beyond washing machines

Bosch washing machine problems are, as most reviewers say, rare, as are Bosch repairs in general. That’s because of the company’s decades of expertise. Robert Bosch GmbH was founded in 1886 as the “Workshop for Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering” in Stuttgart.

Over the years it has manufactured everything from windshield wipers to military arms during WWII to security systems. Today it is know most widely for its appliances and power tools.

Yet surprisingly, not only does a Bosch front-loading washing machine problem dominate interest in appliance questions, Bosch appliance problems account for the top three most popular questions on JustAnswer in March, and 10 of the top 50.

It shares the space with a scattering of appliances from Maytag, Frigidaire, Kenmore, Whirlpool, Samsung, LG, Kitchenaid, Heir, Fisher and Paykel, and Miele. These troublesome appliances, besides washing machines, include Bosch dishwashers and ovens.

Bosch problems and solutions

Besides Bosch washing machine repair questions include a query about clearing error code F21 on a Classixx model. In this case, appliance technician Techdesk explained the procedure for clearing the code, and when this didn’t work, noted that because the code indicates a motor or control board fault, the customer’s washing machine actually needed a new part.

Then there’s the case of the flashing red light on a Bosch dishwasher, which usually means the machine needs a rinsing aid, but in this case was solved by re-adjusting one of the racks. Another popular dishwasher question involves error code E24, which indicates a problem with the pump.

Sometimes Bosch technology actually defeats the owner, as when a customer – whose question was #2 in March – needed to know how to unlock a child lock on a Bosch electric hob.

Another question was as simple as finding out how to change the clock on a Bosch oven. Not every question has to be complex at JustAnswer!

In fact, just because it’s an overall reliable brand, that doesn’t mean you won’t have to struggle with a complicated child lock or a clock that’s only right twice a day! No matter what the problem with your Bosch appliance, you can be confident that the Experts on JustAnswer will have the solution at any time, day or night.
