JustAnswer has provided great opportunities for Experts in a wide variety of fields, whether they answer questions as a side job or help customers each day as their main source of income. For Expert Ryan Hartman, helping customers on JustAnswer has opened up a world of flexibility and freedom by allowing him to answer questions wherever and whenever he wants, which has given him the chance to pursue being an entrepreneur.

“I had recently left my job in the telecommunications field and was eagerly looking for new experiences,” says Ryan. “I have been involved with computers since a very young age, and it became apparent that JustAnswer was a great opportunity to try and become self-employed.”

Since joining JustAnswer as a Computer Expert in July 2009, Ryan has been able to help customers with their tech questions while expanding his industry knowledge during the time he would have spent at a traditional job. “JustAnswer has helped me become more independent and discover that I never want a regular job again!  Not having to go to a typical “9 to 5″ job each week has given me the extra time to learn more about fields that interest me.  Since becoming an Expert on JustAnswer, I have learned a few more programming languages, which eventually led me to publish software in the iPhone and iPad app stores. I now spend much of my time building iPhone applications, as well as answering questions on JustAnswer.”

While Ryan has been able to experience new ventures in entrepreneurship, he’s also found that answering questions on JustAnswer has given him a chance to fulfill one of his primary pleasures – traveling. He’s visited around 25 countries, and since becoming an Expert on JustAnswer, he’s been able to live equal parts of the year in the United States and Germany, with the remaining time spent relaxing in Thailand. He said that wouldn’t be possible if he didn’t have the job and lifestyle he has now.

“Working on JustAnswer has given me the ability to travel and work at the same time. Because all that is required is an Internet connection and time, I can help customers with their computer problems from anywhere in the world,” he says. “It is not unusual to see me lying on a beach in Southeast Asia and answering questions.”

And what destination does Ryan plan to visit next?

“The Computer Experts on JustAnswer that I encounter on a frequent basis are great people, and some friendships outside of JustAnswer have developed. I plan to travel through India sometime in the next year to meet some JustAnswer friends living there!”
